Answer 7  is to guess grave #29 (coming from 34) based on:

(Rationales)

  • Using the Inscription regarding roses and the reverse of the card indicating someone is taking flowers, and follow the roses until the end.
  • One tip is Lottie Hawthorn's name

With the prevalence of rose petals, players search for and inspect each one individually. The reverse text is supposed to be a strong indicator that we are following, looking to see who takes the flowers from there, to another location.

Exclusions of other choices:

This one is a good case of following the clue, and choosing the 'best answer'. One early tester was tricked by the person with lots of flowers at the end of the path.

Design Choices: This one is another mini-story. There is someone taking Flowers from Aster's grave, and placing them at Lottie's.It pairs up with the next Puzzle's choices, but I won't spoil too far ahead. The main intrigue in this was to use a shared visual element across multiple cards, and I felt it told a strong story to do it this way. The other string I wanted to pull was the thought that someone could steal flowers at a cemetery, and it was a veiled comment about selfishness, vandalism, and desecration that (very sadly) occurs.

Changes/Issues/play test reports: No problems reported.
