Answer 4 is to guess grave #8 based on: (Rationales)
- The epitaph from grave 21 - 'That night, Bethlehem was empty. She followed that little star Home. Rest now.'
- The shared death year
- Picking the star on #8, based off excluding other star options.
Exclusions of other choices:
Grave 4 has a star, but the Epitaph above does not support it. There is a small element of specific knowledge to know that the star of Bethlehem and the star of David are different, and the a star in Bethlehem is indicative of involving a baby.
Grave 15 has stars, and two figures rising up. I could see an argument that they are following each other home, but the epitaph on #8 helps indicate that the star is the child, and we are following it. Besides, the two figures do not reflect the sizes of a mother and child.
Design Choices: This one was tough, as it is the grave of a child. Even though it is fiction, it has to be dealt with respect and dignity. It must have a purpose and to tell story and emotion, not just to be a plot device or as a tool in a puzzle.
I hesitated a lot with this, since the story between these three cards, if one picks up on their relationship, is a mother and child dying during childbirth, and the husband following soon after. I thought it might be coming off too strong, but the first few playlists didn't recoil in distaste or discomfort, so I'm letting it run it's course.
In short, this string of relationships helped introduce looking at basic elements of the cards, much like the purpose held by the first card's placement. They build on each other as you go; from looking at matching last names and monuments, to identifying the various stars in the visual elements and deducing from there, and to a matching death year and corresponding epitaphs.
Level of success/other graves that were guessed: One play tester guessed the star of David one, maybe just because it was nearby, and much larger than the one on the cross.
Changes/Issues/play test reports: No problems reported.
